Like the ship, environment activists of all stripes are showing hallmarks of maturity.

French proseutor drops Strauss-Kahn case

French prosecutors can't send Dominique Strauss-Kahn to trial because it happened too long ago and they are dropping the case. DSK admitted only that he tried to kiss Banon without her consent and she refused. For lack of sufficient element of evidence, prosecution cannot be undertaken on the charge of attempted rape.

IAEA team in Japan;Fukushima starts thyroid tests

Experts from the international atomic energy agency arrived in Fukushima to observe the massive decontamination effort following the nuclear disaster. they began a survey of children for thyroid abnormalities. The group was to visit farms, schools and government offices throughout Fukushima prefecture in northeastern Japan to observe the cleanup process.

US women accused of terror financing face trial

Two Minnesota women are accused of funneling money to a terrorist group in Somalia. Thay maintain thier innocence and claim they were collecting money and clothing for refugees. But one of their calls are recorded and the investigators allege, the women said to "forget about the other charities and focus on the jihad". So both women are charged with conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

President Barack Obama must support the entire U.S. military including gay service members. He criticized Republican presidential candidates for staying silent when the crowd at a recent debate booed a gay soldier serving in Iraq who asked a question of the contenders via vidoetape.

China launches module for space station

China will to become a major space power over the coming decade. They launched an experimental module to lay the groundwork for a future space station. This module is to stay aloft for two years after which two other experimental modules are to be launched for additional tests.
